DesktopUI - Unauthorized connect

Post by dbindernagel »

Hello,

I have a problem with a DesktopUI client (AD user) not being able to connect.
The error message in the log is as follows:

Code: Select all

WCCOActrl (2), 2022.05.05 14:36:23.815, PARAM,WARNING, 7/http, Unauthorized connect from [username]@[hostname], /_info
The Device Management is set to automatically unlock devices.
But the problematic host does not appear in the list of devices in the Device Management panel.
All existing devices in the panel are unlocked

Version: WinCC OA 3.18 P009
Windows Server, Non-Redundant
OS auth activated

I can connect without problems from other clients both with Active Directory Accounts and the SCADA root user.
These clients do appear in the Device Management and are unlocked.

I updated from 3.18 P006 to 3.18 P009 today. Not sure if this is relevant.

What I noticed is (but I hope is just a coincident), that we have 11 UI licenses (not fixed, normal "floating" licenses) and we have exactly "11 / 11" unlocked devices in the Device Management (I would assume I can unlock more devices than exisiting UI licenses, as these are floating licenses) .

Can this error message appear for problems other than locked devices?
What could be the reason that the device would not appear in the Device Management?

Thanks in advance for the help

The number of devices which can be unlocked can be higher than the number of UI licenses.
In the code I have found the part where the log message is written. The condition check includes several options and therefore I cannot tell you exactly what causes the error.

Which user is used at the login?
Does the user already exist in the system?
