Is there something special to getting Webclient plugin to run on Microsoft Edge browser in Windows 10?
Docs say it is supported, but it just keeps trying to install the plug in again and again.
LogViewer says: Connection to client OA314TEST could not be encrypted:
Maybe there is something with OpenSSL? But the docs don't say anything about it?

Oddly, if you click on the "..." on the upper right corner of the Edge Browser window, there is a choice, "Open with Internet Explorer" and it works great!

Re: Traditional WebClient on Windows Edge Browser
Hello,
I am afraid, Edge is not supported. Edge does not have the classical plugin support like IE has. I have not seen a documentation that states otherwise.
As also NPAPI is already or will be desupported soon by browser vendors your browser choices are very limited.
If running in a browser is the goal, the most compatible way is to use ULC UX.
BR,
Andreas

Re: Traditional WebClient on Windows Edge Browser
Thank you for your insight. It looks like Microsoft Edge will get plug-in feature soon (Microsoft announced that new Win 10 patch will have updated Edge browser)
Just so you know my source for confusion: help->special functions->Web Client->Requirements and Installation->Supported web browsers. Microsoft Edge is on the same list with Firefox!
The funny thing is that Google Chrome for PC works great! And is never on the list. All you Apple lovers forget the rest of us use Android products.

Re: Traditional WebClient on Windows Edge Browser
You are right, it seems Microsoft will finally enable the most wanted feature for its new browser. However, old proprietary and often unsecure technologies like ActiveX, wont be enabled anymore. This is a good thing
.
Chrome for PC with OA Webclient works probably only with IE tab, which is basically an IE within Chrome. Chrome itself has supported NPAPI in the past. But by end of 2015 it was completely removed. That is also why OA 3.14 was never released for Chrome.
Thanks about the info on the documentation, we will correct this with the next patch.
