Hello,
I have a question about the Mobile UI app (Android-Version).
I wanted to test a project on the app with the automated test program "Squish" made by froglogic. There, I realized, that I can't access any of the objects (like Buttons) directly. The only way I could create a test, was by recording my actions and this way using coordinates (for every tap with my finger). Normally you can access every button, label etc. on the screen by it's name.
So I checked via developer settings the layout borders of the app. And the whole app is one big object, with no other inside. (Like a Video)
So I was wondering how the app works. It seems like some kind of VNC, even so I heard it is not?
I am asking, because at the moment it seams, that the only way for automated testing would be by comparing screenshots (which is kind of tedious).
Kind regards
Daniel

Re: Mobile UI - Testing
I talked to our testing team. They are using Squish to test the Android App. How the tests are done in detail I do not know.
The Mobile UI is a native application where the UI process runs on the Android device. It is not using like technology like VNC or similar ones.
When using the WinCC OA ULC UX (Ultraliight UX client) the UI is running on a server and only graphical information is transferred to the client machine.
