port number for S7 driver - PLC ?

Post by frankySie »

the help manual has two different informations about the
port number for S7 communication:

1)
S7 Treiber SPS , the driver is looking for a free port number

2)
The S7 driver uses the TCP port 102 for communication with the PLC. The port can not be changed!

What's now?

Hello,

I had a look at the online help but I couldn't find the part mentioned at 1) in your posting.
Can you please tell us in detail where you found it in the online help.

The information is correct that the port cannot be changed.

The email-address pvss_pm@etm.at was an old address to contact our product management team.
Why do you want to get in contact with this team?

For support requests the address support.automation@siemens.com has to be used.
Please have a look at the following FAQ-entry before sending a support request:

to 1)
see the online help - TCP/IP Communication
(or enter the search with keyword "port" and select TCP/IP Communication from results)

to 2)
see Driver - S7 - requirements + installation

about the email-address pvss_pm@etm.at:

my registration in this forum was not commited (by you) for 4 days.
So I tried to send an email to you via pvss_pm@etm.at. This email adr. is reported on the ETM homepage. Please remove it because customers will be confused.
